Since the second half of the 20th century, global warming issue has been manifested by the fossil fuel greenhouse gas emissions effects. As measures to curb the effects, new energy utilization technology based on energy consumption reduction and energy harvesting technology has received huge attention for which realizing a low-carbon and smart society are desired. In recent years, the generic vibration power generation technology for low power consumption electronic devices has been developed. In the near future, the technology is expected to be introduced in physical structures, medical health monitoring system, wireless sensor network and smart building.
In this research project, instead of dissipating the energy to heat, by focusing on vibrations that generated in industries and automobiles, we develop a vibration power regeneration technology with piezoelectric power generation devices. As a result, we aim to build a self-powered system with battery-less low power consumption devices.
